During the 2025-2026 academic year, students start the academic year in late August and finish in the middle of June, with planned Thanksgiving, winter holidays, and spring recess. BCPS makes use of early dismissal days, workdays of the teachers, and observance of federal holidays. The district is particularly keen on academic success, student health, and family support, with support services and extra-curricular activities provided all year round to enable students to develop and to ensure community participation.
