FAQs

Q: How do I register or enroll my child in FCPS?

A: To enroll your child, you should make contact with your zoned school, or you may begin the process of registration online. Documents such as the proof of residence, birth certificate of your child, together with his/her immunization records and past academic records of his/her old school, will be required.

Q: Can I request a school transfer for my child?

A: School transfers are possible in some situations, e.g., when your sibling goes to the school or when you want a particular academic program. All requests are considered, and there can be a small non-refundable cost.

Q: Is virtual or remote learning available?

A: Fairfax County provides minimal remote learning opportunities within its Virtual Program. Admission depends on availability and approval of the most required on most occasions due to the ability of a student or health conditions of a student.

Q: How are kindergarten classrooms assigned?

A: To have balanced classes, the placement of Kindergarten classes is done. Parents are welcome to provide any information about the learning style or needs of a child, although teachers cannot accommodate their requests. Siblings, such as twins, can be retained in case they are requested.

Q: Are free or reduced-price meals offered to students?

A: Well, yes, FCPS offers free or less expensive meals to those students who meet the family income level requirements. They have to apply, and they are processed through the nutrition services of the school.
