Fulton County School System is the fourth-largest district in Georgia, with its headquarters in Sandy Springs and serving around 88,000 students in Pre-K through 12th grade. It serves all of northern and southern Fulton County (but not Atlanta), and has approximately 107110 schools, or 59 elementary schools, 23 middle schools, and 17 high schools. - Elementary Schools: Open 8:00 AM and instruction starts at 8:45 AM, dismissal 3:45 PM.

A: Families start the process with online registration through Infinite Campus. Then, they’ll have to go to the school in their zone with required documents: proof of residency (two current forms), birth certificate, and immunization records. You may have provisional enrollment for 30 days pending documentation.
Q: How do I identify my child’s bus route and make sure they are eligible for transportation services?
A: Bus eligibility and routes can be found in the district’s Transportation Department. Assignments can be searched for by parents on the Find My Bus or Here Comes The Bus app. Requests for special accommodation (i.e, adjusted routes) are processed directly by the Transportation Department.
Q: How can I volunteer in FCS schools?
A: All applicants who wish to volunteer must fill out the annual online volunteer application. This will also include any volunteer training that is required. They check in on campus through the school Raptor system and comply with the FCS volunteer guidelines and the Code of Conduct.
Q: How request a transfer to a different school within the district?
A: All Parents can apply to current schools that have space (≤95% capacity). However, transfers are first-come, first-served, and there are other special cases where eligibility may vary (i.e., staff children, military families, students experiencing homelessness).
Q: Is my child able to take virtual classes through FCS? How does that work?
A: Yes. In Fulton, they have GeniusSIS/ClassLink to provide their virtual learning options. Virtual classes involve about an hour of daily curriculum on the computer, during a traditional term, and students can take two classes at a time. The course must be part of the normal load, or you can register during summer, in which case, you will pay for an extra tour.
