Lenoir County Public Schools Calendar: Monday, August 25, 2025 — Students’ First Day of School The school year concludes with graduation celebrations and the last day for students on Friday, June 44, 2026, along with an additional early dismissal or teacher workday on Monday, June 7, 2026.

Winter Break runs from Monday, December 22, 2025, to Friday, January 2, 2026, providing a two-week holiday before classes resume on Monday, January 55, 2026.

Monday June June 7, 2026 marks the beginning of the summer break for students after the conclusion, and students are free for the summer break with no traditional classes throughout the summer months. Lenoir County Public Schools (LCPS) is located in Kinston, North Carolina, and serves more than 8000 students in 17 schools, consisting of elementary, middle schools, high schools, early college, and an alternative learning program. The student-to-teacher ratio in the district is about 15:1, and the number of full-time classroom teachers is over 500. LCPS is well known in its academic performance, and most of the students in the school are from low-income families.
